'Pancha Sutras' of learner-centric practices
Since the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 became a part of the learning ecosystem, a 'Pancha Sutra' of learner-centric practices has become relevant. These are based on conceptualisation in the context of the goals of NEP, implementation of the same as part of classroom activities, review and reflection of their effectiveness and learner feedback.
The first ‘sutra’ is essentially philosophical. In implementing NEP 2020 as a practice, this ‘sutra’ is critical for the creation of the right ambience to facilitate 21st century learning. We may develop brilliant tools and techniques, we may put in place the appropriate processes and procedures, but the visibility of change remains incomplete if not accompanied by the right attitude and approach.
